12/02/2004: "Carlton Library: TLC 'meet the author' event!!!"
Hi and a big hello to Maggie, Yvonne and Truc (pictured in the photo)
,
I was back to Carlton Library again this week for their 'Teen Library Club - meet the author' session. Students from St Bridget's Primary came along and asked great questions. Like, who drew the illustration on the front cover of 'To love Veronica Bee'? (you can find the answer to that question on the 4th page of the book, just before the 'contents' page. Maggie also asked how long it took me to write 'To love Veronica Bee'? It took me 5 years and 7 drafts, but I also wrote 2 other books during those 5 years. So I guess it would probably take me a whole year to write one book.
So what else did we get up to?

Lyn (the Youth Librarian at Carlton Library) had organised the TLC meeting and it was great that people came along to the 'meet the author session'. I'd have to admit that I like that there's chips and chocolate and soft drink! Thanks Lyn, yum!!! The other ace thing about coming to TLC is you get first pick of new books. So if you're a keen reader, this is way cool!
We watched the Pop Fiction film that shows you all about 'what is Pop Fiction?' and 'how to make Pop Fiction!' We also checked out new books written by other authors and then went downstairs to the computer area. The photo is a picture of Maggie, Truc and Yvonne making a Pop Fiction animation. Their animations are ace and they were so quick to make them - it only took them 10 minutes. Wanna check out their animations,

If wanna make one too and it's about 'To love Veronica Bee',
Make sure you email the link to me so I can feature it on the Pop Fiction website.....
See ya, Sare
